Wanted to say thanks to all of you that offered advice. It's working like a charm, haven't even come close to losing a ship. I realize that even with my new tactics I will eventually lose some, but its nice to know that I have a fighting chance.

So, a good strategy would be to drag the NPC's off at least 50km+ and kill them out there. That way if somebody drops in, they are so far off, I will have a good chance at GTFO? Thank you all for your input, it has enlightend me.

I got that, but I am not seeing probes listed in any of the overview settings. Under which tab are they located, I have looked through all of them and don't see any...are they called something else?
